LinkUp's Job Cloud Resource

Our job cloud is a version of the popular word cloud (sometimes called a tag cloud) concept made popular by such sites as Flickr and del.icio.us. It works on the concept that the size of the word represents how common (or popular) it is within a category. The goal is to inspire the visitor and give suggestions for search terms. How does this help me?

There are actually a couple ways that this should be able to help the creative jobseeker. Here are a couple suggestions, but feel free to tell us yours and we'll add them.

• Know what type of career you'd like, but don't know what to search for? Use the job cloud to give you some search term ideas
• All your searches bringing up too many results? The job cloud can help you find some more niche keywords
• Writing a resume? Find buzzwords and essential phrases to use in your industry with the job cloud

Why don't more sites offer this?

Despite word clouds being around since 2004, it's actually quite hard to find a useful application for them. Frankly, we're not even sure if this will be useful - but we'd rather offer it than bury it. If you think it's great or horrible, please let us know.
