Interventional Radiolgoy (IR) Technologist


Under the general supervision of the Cardiac Catheterization LaboratoryManager and the Interventional Radiology Supervisor,the Interventional RadiologyTechnologist and the general direction of the medical staff is responsible forprofessional patient care and related assistance to patients upon admission tothe department. The InterventionalRadiology Technologist utilizes the patient care process in ensuringsafe, competent and quality patient care. The Interventional Radiology Technologist inthe Interventional Radiology department supports all aspects of the patient's procedure under the direction of the MedicalStaff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This person ensures a safe environment forthe patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers,volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The Interventional RadiologyTechnologist acts to provide care in a competent, efficient and cost effectivemanner. Must be able to assess ownlearning needs to enhance personal and professional development. Increasesknowledge and skills related to patient care by attending workshops, formalclasses, seminars and inservices. TheInterventional Radiology Technologist's patient care skills are subject tothe policies and procedures of the hospital. Responsible on-call participationis required for this position.

Current licensure in Texas as a Radiologic Technologist

Registered American Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Radiologic Technologist.

BLS Certification

ACLS Certification (recommend)
