The Problem With Peoplesoft
We're not going to sugarcoat it - we don't like the job boards of companies that use Peoplesoft. Arguably, the Peoplesoft job board is the most anti-jobseeker of them all. Although there is a lot of competition for this crown, there are 4 key points that establishes Peoplesoft as the worst choice for any company wanting to share job openings.
Four Reasons Peoplesoft Is a Bad Job Board
1) Impossible to bookmark anything
Interested in a job and want to come back to it later? Too bad. Peoplesoft will make you do the search again from scratch to find the same listing.
2) Impossible to open listing in a new window
Since 1995, people have enjoyed the ability to load webpages in a 2nd window. Unless you're using Peoplesoft. With Peoplesoft you can only look at one job page at a time. Why? Because apparently that's how Peoplesoft thinks the Internet should be.
3) Very restricted viewing and navigation
Want to view more than 5 jobs at a time? Too bad, Peoplesoft won't let you. Want to jump to page 4? Too bad, Peoplesoft makes you go to page 2 and 3 first. Why? Well, Peoplesoft has problems.
4) Can't share listings with interested parties
Although this is related to our first point, it is still worth mentioning. If you come across a job on a Peoplesoft board that you want to share with a friend or relative, you can't simply send them the link. Instead you have to send them the link to the homepage and then click-by-click instructions how to get the listing, by which time you and your friend have lost interest. Jobhunting is hard, but this is ridiculous.

Feel free to go to the company websites that use Peoplesoft and search for jobs. If you're having a hard time finding the right job for you because of their system, let them know by email or phone. If your company uses Peoplesoft, explain to the people in charge why its difficult and hurting your business. And if you have ideas for us on how to fix this, please let us know.
