Role : Sr Project Manager - Product Development-SAAS

Location : Dallas, TX or Remote

Overview:

  • Product Development Team: Transportation Management Systems (TMS) – Industry Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant! Our TMS is used in transportation operations to drive impact for global consumer goods manufacturers, retailers and 3PLs alongside our growing partner network

  • The team currently comprises of 60+ global associates across US, India (COE) and UK and is expected to grow rapidly. The incumbent will need to have leadership qualities to also mentor junior and mid-level software associates on our team

  • Scope of work:
  • 30% People Management, 20% Customer facing, 10% Process improvements (DevOps/best practices), 10% Technical Design discussions, 10% Stakeholder and cross functional management and 20% leading or participating in new initiatives

  • Responsible from initial planning to final delivery. Manages the project teams associated with the project, including recruiting and managing resources for the project, as well as coaching and mentoring members of the team to progress on their career paths. Coordinates with key constituents outside of PD, including PMG, Sales, Support, Services, Cloud and customers.

  • This role will bring challenges and opportunity for growth with a tight knit team and a services-oriented product that is going through growth and investment.

Our current technical environment:

  • Software: Java 8 & 11, Gradle, GIT, Hibernate, Rest API, OAuth

  • Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture

  • Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, HD insight, Application gateway, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)

  • Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Springboot, Gradle GIT, Ignite

What you'll do:

People:

  • Lead a team of software engineers (5-8 engineers) in the US to ensure the team adheres to operational guidelines.

  • Coach team members and champion best practices for quality, security, performance, and DevOps principles.

  • Lead decision-making and collaboration across a broad network of stakeholders, delivery partners, and operational teams.

  • Innovate and optimize engineering processes and standards; drive adoption throughout organization.

  • Lead operational excellence and appropriate incident management and resolution.

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of on-prem (mandatory) and Cloud based Enterprise BY Core products

  • Hire, develop, and cultivate amazing people and teams.

  • Facilitates team associates in product/technology knowledge areas and triage techniques.

  • Motivates and mentors - develops an environment where associates work well together and are empowered, challenged and motivated.

  • Vigilantly focused on customer success.

  • Maintain and lead awareness of industry best practices and relevant technologies.

Process:

  • Vigilantly focused on development process.

  • Oversees all performance management matters including formal performance reviews as well as frequent reviews, and scheduled one-on-ones with associates.

  • Drive development best practices and process methodology.

  • Works with our Cloud team to drive our DevOps model.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree (computer science or equivalent), with 10+ years of experience in IT/Software development environments that should include minimum 3+ years of progressive experience as a Project Manager or (or) Technical lead, with Scrum Master responsibilities

  • Experience in at least one Cloud platform preferably AZURE

  • Proven proficiency in JIRA, Rally, or similar Agile lifecycle (ALM) tools; solid understanding of and demonstrated hands-on experience in using Agile Project Management Frameworks & Methodologies - SAFe, Scrum & Kanban

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management

  • Conflict resolution and negotiations skills to resolve disagreements quickly and effectively, bringing a problem-solving attitude to conflicting approaches and priorities involving others

  • Ability to oversee multiple complex project deliveries in parallel

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Demonstrates the ability to apply domain concepts into the solutions and product areas

  • Demonstrates good understanding of the product and its architecture

  • Nurture a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, creative problem solving, and Innovation within the team.

  • Strong understanding of software design principles.

  • Experience developing large, scalable applications deployed on cloud.

  • Experience using Git or similar tools for complex software systems with teams.

Preferred skills:

  • Prior work as a PM in a Product development company (or) Cloud native application development (or) SaaS development environments

  • Hands-on design, coding & development

  • Implementation experience on Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC and Spring Data JPA.

  • Working knowledge of different SQL/Oracle databases

  • Experience with Front-end tools for testing and automation, like Grunt, Karma, Jasmine and selenium.

  • Software development background; this is to engage in technical discussions with managers, architects, and team leads in order to understand the details of our products and development stories.
