LinkUp Forecast: December JOLTS report by the BLS
The BLS recently reported 7.15 million job openings in their November JOLTS report. Read on for our advanced look at December numbers.
LinkUp’s JOLTS forecast for December is 6.89 million open jobs. This is a 3.7% decrease in job openings from the recently restored job openings for November.
As a note, we continued to forecast JOLTs datapoints during the BLS data release outage. We will not be reforecasting as they were released after our forecast was released.
BLS releases all survey reports on monthly job openings and labor turnover a full month after-the-fact. The LinkUp job data consistently shows a strong correlation to the BLS numbers. We offer a significant advantage of being available a month before the official release.
We’ll continue to monitor and report on the developing state of the U.S. labor economy.
