On April 2nd, we published our NFP forecast for March that included, among a pile of job market data sourced directly from company and employer websites, a map that showed declines in job openings by state for the month. In March, total job openings across the entire country declined by 19% and the map of declines by state looked as follows:

Total job openings have continued to drop since then and have now declined 28% through April 12th. The shades of red are getting darker every week and the declines haven’t yet shown any sign of slowing down.
